Inbox: Associate an Unassociated Contact with a Company
If a contact comes in unassociated with a company (and they are not a sales rep), follow these steps to associate their activities with the appropriate company.
You will occasionally receive an email from a contact that is not associated with their account, and you will want to be sure to add their email to the account so hubspot will associate said Contact's activities with their Company.
To associate a Contact with a Company
1. Click on the name of the associate in the top right corner of the page - it should be in blue text.
2. In the center of the page, you will see a box labeled "Companies," click on the "+Add" button.
3. Under "Add existing," type either the associated Richardson account number or Company name. Select appropriate account, then click "Next"
4. Confirm the selected Account is associated with the email. Once done, click "Save." The email will now be associated with the Company in hubspot.
If you should need more information on the account, you can click on the account name at the top of the conversation. Doing so will allow you to view the Account #, Price Level, Sales Division, Decoration Authorization, Company Type, Default Email, etc. This is all good information you would normally use BP for.
